Mohamed Osman
About
I'm Mohamed Osman, a Mathematics and Computer Science student, AI engineer, and researcher passionate about building technology that solves real-world problems. My work spans artificial intelligence, software engineering, and applied research, with experience developing production AI systems, scalable software platforms, and data-driven solutions across startups, industry, and academia. Beyond technology, I'm actively involved in leadership and community initiatives. I currently serve as Chair of the IEEE Student Branch at Eastern Mediterranean University and have contributed to several Sudanese student support and education initiatives. Through SPN, I'm excited to connect with fellow Sudanese professionals, learn from experienced mentors, and contribute to opportunities that help Sudanese talent grow and thrive globally.
Career path
My career began in software development and data analysis, where I worked on automation, reporting systems, and business process optimization projects. I later co-founded and contributed to the Sudan Digital Library, helping build one of Sudan's early large-scale digital education platforms. I then worked as a Software Engineering Intern at EECC, developing internal platforms, HR systems, and workflow automation tools that improved operational efficiency across multiple departments. Currently, I work as a Software/AI Engineer at ShaheenAI, where I develop and deploy production AI systems, including generative AI and machine learning solutions used in commercial environments. Alongside industry work, I am the sole undergraduate researcher on a graduate-level biomedical AI research team, focusing on domain-adaptive speech recognition systems for healthcare applications. My interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, MLOps, software engineering, and building technology products that create measurable impact.
