Career path
I have over 23 years of progressive experience in agriculture, rural development, food security, microfinance, livelihoods, and agribusiness program management. My career began in community development and rural livelihoods programming, where I worked on microfinance, income-generating activities, and support to vulnerable rural households to strengthen resilience and improve economic opportunities. Over time, I expanded my focus to agricultural development and value chain programming, working with farmers, cooperatives, and rural enterprises to improve productivity, market access, and access to finance. I have been involved in designing and managing development programs that integrate agriculture, rural finance, and market systems development. I have worked extensively with government institutions, international organizations, development partners, and NGOs on the design, implementation, and coordination of agricultural and rural development initiatives. My responsibilities have included program strategy development, project management, stakeholder engagement, partnership building, monitoring and evaluation, and institutional capacity strengthening. In recent years, my work has increasingly focused on food systems transformation, food security strategies, agribusiness development, climate resilience, and youth employment in agriculture. I have contributed to national and multi-stakeholder processes, including food systems assessments, strategy development, and policy dialogue in Sudan. I have also worked with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) through the ENABLE Youth Sudan Programme, supporting youth agripreneurship and employment creation in agriculture. Currently, I am Co-founder and Managing Director of AgriNiche United Co. and Country Partner for Agribusiness Academy, where I continue to work on agribusiness development, agricultural innovation, and capacity building to support sustainable rural transformation.
